KIWIBEE policies

Privacy Policy

Effective October 27, 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information KIWIBEE collects, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It covers parents and the children whose profiles parents create.

Information from parents

Your name, email address, sign-in details (handled by our sign-in provider; we never see your Google password), Parent Hive password (stored only as a secure hash), subscription and billing status (card details are handled by Stripe and never stored by us), notification settings, and the content you create: missions, rewards, bonus games, uploaded worksheets and photos.

Information about children

Only what a parent enters or the child creates while using the app: first name or nickname, grade, chosen bee avatar, a 4-6 digit PIN (stored only as a secure hash), mission answers, read-aloud results (the recognised words and accuracy score, not audio recordings), points, badges, rewards and season history. We do not ask children for their email, address, phone number, photo, location or any other contact information, and child profiles have no chat or social features.

Technical information

IP address, browser and device type, time zone and security logs (for example sign-in attempts and admin activity), used to keep the Service secure and working.

How we use information

To provide the Service (missions, points, badges, rewards, reports), to generate AI learning content you ask for, to send notifications you expect, to process payments, to keep accounts safe, to prevent abuse and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, we do not show advertising, and we do not use children's information for marketing or profiling.

Who we share it with

Only service providers that help us run KIWIBEE, under contracts that limit their use of the data: Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (payments), Anthropic through our AI integration provider (AI content generation, see the AI Provider Disclosure), our email delivery provider (notification emails) and our cloud hosting and storage providers. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect a child's safety.

Read aloud and the browser

Read-aloud practice uses your browser's built-in speech recognition. Depending on your browser, the browser maker (for example Google for Chrome) may process the audio to turn it into text under its own privacy policy. KIWIBEE receives only the resulting text and does not record or store audio.

Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords and PINs, role-based access controls, two-step verification for admins and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you of a breach affecting your information as the law requires.

Your rights

You can view, correct, export or delete your family's information. See the Export/Deletion Request Procedures. Residents of the EU/UK, California, Texas and other places have additional rights described in the GDPR/UK GDPR Children's Privacy section and under applicable law.
